Title:
Oasis of Love
Nadine teamed with a host of world-class songwriters and producers in the making of the new album, including Denmark's Cut Father & Joe, Guy Roche, Dave Hall, Tommy Farrager, Supa Flyas, Carlos De France & Rafa Legisima and the hot team of Pablo Flores & Javier Garza. Nadine wrote or co-wrote nearly every track, and co-produced several herself. Songs like "Next To Me," "Sincere" (written by Dianne Warren) and the hot-blooded "Caribe Sangre" reveal her vocal artistry and emotional depth. Others, like "Until Now," "Be A Better Man," and "Sugar Kisses," take the universal theme of love and give it extra bite and intrigue. "That last song is all about fun, about crushes, about being with someone you love to kiss," she says."
"Real You" is a beautiful ballad Nadine co-produced with Jimmy Ray Productions, while "Passion" combines the flamenco fire of the gypsy passion with a rumba pop sound, and features an ensemble of real gypsy guitarists from Seville. "It's Not Over" shows off Nadine's astounding gift for improvisation, as the lyrics to the song were created live and on-the-spot at the recording session. "I just closed my eyes and let the rhythm take me," recalls Nadine of the experience. "It's a very earthy, very raw part of me." Clearly, as a songwriter, Nadine never takes the easy way out; and as a singer, she's in a class by herself.
Born in New York and raised in Miami, Nadine began singing professionally at a young age. Among her idols at the time were divas past and present like Annie Lennox, Cher, Cyndi Lauper, Janis Joplin and Deborah Harry. She wrote her first song at age 12, formed her first band at 14, and released her premiere indie album at 16. While still in high school, Nadine studied sound engineering, eventually assembling her own home studio. "I'm a music equipment junkie," she laughs. "I love studio gear, and I have always had a lot of input on the production of my records."
After high school, Nadine began living and touring in various ports-of-call around the world, from Europe to the Middle East, performing her music and winning fans everywhere she went. At 18, she recorded her second independent album, Let's Make Love, which she wrote and co-produced. Nadine also co-wrote and sang the Gold selling Planet Soul single "Set U Free", which peaked at #26 on billboard's Hot 100 and crossed over to Billboard's Hot 100 R&B. Always astute when it came to building her career, Nadine signed licensing deals in scores of countries, ensuring her music would spread far and wide. Among her licensees was MCA Records/U.K. which acted quickly to secure Nadine as a solo artist.
Now, she's about to bring it on home with her sensational new MCA album.
"I want to expand musically with every song I sing and write," she
says of her hopes for the future. "I have a lot of music to share with
the world." Though she speaks various languages, Nadine Renee's first
language is music. Take a listen and one thing's clear: Nadine Renee also
speaks your language.
