Derrick Lee Murdock (aka "Dock") A native of Philadelphia began playing the electric bass at age 19. While most musicians consider this a late start, Derrick was able to overcome this by intensive practicing and study of his favroite bassist. Among his early influences were Stanley Clarke, Jaco Pastourius, Nils Orsted Pederson, Bootsy Collins etc. Derrick preformed at clubs in and around the Philadelphia area while developing his talent. In 1994 Derrick relocated to Los Angeles to perform with Sheena Easton. Since then he has performed and toured with Pattie Austin, Denice Williams, Cherrelle, Temptations , Dr.Dre, Rose Royce, The Dazz Band, Mandrill, Howard Hewitt,Andre Crouch, The Jazz Crusaders, Tom Scott, David Benoit, Jeff Lorber, Angila Bofill, Bob Mamet ,Kevin Eubanks (From The Tonight Show),Fran Drescher (The Nanny), Della Resse (Touched By An Angel) and performed on the popular super hero show The Power Rangers.
